Norwegian Cruise Line and Take 3 for the Sea - a powerful partnership

Norwegian Cruise Line (NCL) partners with Take 3 for the Sea in Australia to support the organisation’s vital work in reducing plastic pollution in local waterways and oceans, and to inspire NCL staff, travel agent partners and guests to be part of the change. As Take 3 for the Sea’s exclusive cruise partner, NCL undertakes a range of activities to encourage awareness of the movement amongst the travel community, such as education and training sessions, dedicated clean-up experiences for staff and travel partners, and new shore excursions for guests keen to show their support in a hands-on, meaningful way.

“Conserving the health of our oceans and reducing plastic pollution is an important part of NCL’s comprehensive Sail & Sustain program,” said Ben Angell, Managing Director and Vice President of NCL APAC. “As the first major cruise line to eradicate single-use plastic water bottles from our ships, we’re proud to say that so far, across our three sister brands at NCLH we’ve kept over 14 million water bottles and 50 million plastic straws from harming the environment.

We are delighted to sponsor the Take 3 CEO Clean-Up again this year to help raise the profile of Take 3’s mission and to continue our company’s commitment to combatting plastic pollution and driving a positive impact on our oceans.

NCL’s comprehensive Sail & Sustain program is focused on five key areas: reducing environmental impact; sailing safely; empowering people; strengthening communities and operating with integrity and accountability. The Company’s conservation commitments extend far beyond its ships to include partnerships with leading conservation organisations, scientific research projects and education institutions worldwide.
