Take the lead in environmental sustainability and be part of the solution
Are you a CEO or business leader looking for the opportunity to demonstrate leadership in environmental sustainability?
We invite you to register today to participate in our CEO Clean-Up event, and support Take 3 to achieve our goal of educating one million students and removing 50 million pieces of rubbish from the environment by 2025.
Jacquie Riddell
CEO Take 3
Participating in the Take 3 CEO Clean-Up is easy
Not a CEO or business leader? We still need your help!
You can nominate your CEO or business leader and support their fundraising. You don’t have to be a CEO or business leader to make a difference.
Plastic pollution is one of the biggest threats to oceans, marine life and the broader environment. Over 8 million tonnes of new plastic enter the ocean each year and, by 2050, there will be more plastic in the ocean than fish.
Every day, businesses across Australia are adding to the plastic pollution problem.
The Take 3 CEO Clean-Up events are the first of their kind, providing business leaders with the opportunity to lead by example and make a positive change in their community.
Take 3 believes in simple actions to address complex problems. In 2009, two local friends asked themselves, how can we stop plastic pollution from killing wildlife and suffocating our planet?
To answer this question, Roberta Dixon-Valk and Amanda Marechal developed an idea where a simple action could produce profound consequences. Joining forces with environmentalist Tim Silverwood, the trio established Take 3 as an organisation and launched it publicly in 2010.
Their message was simple, Take 3 pieces of rubbish with you when you leave the beach, waterway or…anywhere, and you have made a difference.
Co-founders Tim Silverwood, Amanda Marechal and Roberta Dixon-Valk.
This is a waterway near our home in East Gosford. It looked pristine when pgilmour and I started our clean-up yesterday for the virtual #take3ceocleanup . But, wthin an hour, we collected nearly 1000 pieces of plastic waste. Most of it was takeaway and junk food packaging from the world's biggest plastic producers (cocacola mcdonaldsau cadburyaust just to name a few). Much of the plastic had disintegrated into microplastics and was being picked up by sea birds. I am so appalled by what we have done to our local environment 😥
One of the reasons that I started this campaign is because plastic producers MUST be part of the solution. It's one thing to teach people not to litter, but it's another thing to change that litter. The campaign has reached the government, but we need to make our voices louder.

This morning I took part in the take3forthesea CEO Clean Up. Myself, Luca, Carlo and Tom took to our local canal, Alexandra Canal to collect and recycle as much rubbish as possible. It was super confronting to see the amount of rubbish that we collected in such a small area and to think that the majority of rubbish that doesn’t get collected finds its ways into our waterways and oceans.
I am also raising funds for Take 3 to help them achieve their goal of removing 50 million pieces of rubbish from our oceans and waterways and educate 1 million school children on plastic pollution and effective recycling.
If you are in the position to be able to give, your help is seriously appreciated and can find a link to donate via the link in my bio.
I’ll also be having the incredible CEO of Take 3 _sarahbeard_ on my podcast next Tuesday to talk about how powerful visual storytelling is in changing behaviours and the impact Take 3 is having on the world.
Our team at Frost* are going to be setting up a monthly clean up in our local area, whoever is keen to join let me know ✌️
#Take3CEOCleanUp ...
Valentino of Vanuatu got an early start on the Take 3 for the sea CEO cleanup today.
The only rubbish he could find on this beach was one tin can
The rest of the rubbish was organic ..coconut shells and palm fronds.
Vanuatu has been crippled by nearly 2 years of no inbound tourism, but we are keeping it clean and the sea healthy for when you return 😀
